Charleston Plantation Tours

Charleston’s wealth was created centuries ago based on the growing of rice and indigo on plantations laid out all over the Lowcountry.

Join one of our talented guides as they take you back in time for a tour of one of four available plantations. You’ll learn about the agriculture, horticulture, and natural wildlife of the plantation, as well as the life of the enslaved Africans upon whose backs this wealth was created.

Take a plantation tour to learn about the historic importance of these estates in our nation’s history — and in the United States’ rice industry. Plantation tours allow visitors to step back in time and meet the families who ran these estates. Some of our tours of plantations in Charleston include:

  • Magnolia Plantation
  • Middleton Plantation
  • Drayton Hall
  • Boone Hall

Admission to the plantation is extra.  Call for pricing and availability!

Day Trip to Savannah

On the way, your guide will entertain you with Charleston and Savannah history. You also don’t need to worry about getting lost during your short stay in the Hostess City of the South, as your guide will take you from attraction to attraction by foot, car or trolley.  A full-day trip will include transportation to and from Charleston and a guided walking tour of the most popular points of interest in the city.  Lunch, on-off trolley, and a guided tour of a historic house museum can be added to truly customize your experience.  Transportation only from Charleston to Savannah and back is also available.
